Reverse order

So better late than never on getting this post up - a little reverse order on these as I like to post the blogs to give families a "sneak peak" before they see the online gallery, but it's crunch time for getting holiday orders in so I wanted to make sure they had their galleries first.
Three great sessions last weekend with three great families....three more this weekend. I've also been working on some customized cards and collages, so I'll be posting those soon and adding that info to the website.
Group art lessons are in full swing and I've really enjoyed working with those great young artists in the classes. Hard to believe the first block of home school lessons are almost done, but I certainly look forward to more to come with them! My private lessons are doing a great job on their projects as well! Busy, busy....needless to say I'm not out braving the malls today!!
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Shhhhhhh!!!!

Had a fun evening photo shoot today...but Shhhhhhh!!! If you know this sexy lady, don't say a word to her hubby! Today's shoot was to get some fun & flirty pics as a surprise for her man :-) We got some great shots at several locations on post, as well as in the studio. It was great to find some more spots here to use in upcoming shoots, too.

Some other goodies...

As many of you know, I also give private art lessons & love to do paintings & other "artsy" things. This week I did a wedding gift for a client - she bought a large platter and I used glass paint to create the design based off the couple's "save the date." A few weeks ago I did this alphabet themed table & chairs for another client. Her kiddos were so cute when I dropped it off - they starting singing and counting as they pointed to the letters & numbers. (Sorry 'bout the photo-it was one of those "oh shoot! I forgot to get a picture!" moments as I was loading it into the car)
I am incredibly thankful to be as busy as I have been!! In addition to the private art lessons I've already been enjoying, this week I start group art lessons with some home-school families. We'll be creating some Matisse-inspired self portraits for this first session & I can't wait to get started. In a couple weeks I'll be setting up at an FRG event to take family portraits at their holiday party...and of course I've got all the portrait sessions. When we moved here I really thought I was going to be bored out of my mind...I'm so glad to have been proved wrong on that!
I gotta thank my awesome hubby,Mike, for being as great as he's been about me starting my own business...and definetly gotta thank photographers Ali & Scott back in Kansas for all they've taught me. (check out their websites-links are on my "about the artist" page on my site) As with anything else in life, it's an endless amount of learning & growing I've got to look forward to, but I've learned so much from them and I hope I'm making them proud :-) If you find yourself in the Fort Riley area, definetly look them up!!
Thank you again to everyone that I've worked with so far-I've been having so much fun, and I really appreciate how many of you have told your friends about me.
Smiles! Missie
